A Summer Wedding at The Wheeler House

Saturday offered us a warm, summer wedding day in Ballground, Georgia, at the historic Wheeler House. Alex and Colton, our Georgia bride and groom, hosted family and friends for an intimate affair, due to the pandemic. Alex chose blush and gold as her colors for her August wedding day and a mermaid gown fit for a princess. Her groom's attire was a classic black tuxedo. Colton was so dapper in his suit.

We’ve known this couple for a very long time. I was able to capture Alex’s graduation from college. Soon after, Colton reached out to see if we would be willing to travel to Nashville for a surprise proposal on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. Of course we said yes!

On a Sunday afternoon, two summers ago, I started posting fake instagram stories I had recorded the previous week. Like I said, Alex and I had become quick friends and she watched my stories every day. I started sharing fake insta stories while traveling to Tennessee. Once we arrived, I hid my ponytail in a baseball cap, threw on some sunglasses, and tried to be very discreet! She also knew Josh, so we both hid!

We captured that special moment and they booked us for their special day the week after. These guys waited two full years to get married! I think they win the award for longest Amy-Cole engagement!

This past Saturday, we were honored to finally capture their special day. We were very worried that the pandemic would ruin their ceremony and reception, but they scaled back their guest list and we made it work. I don’t think I’ve ever been more giddy to see a wedding day happen!!!

We had an amazing day, even through the sweat and humidity! We are grateful that we were able to work with some amazing vendors and could relive this day, with them, over and over again!
