The Barn at Bennett Flats :: Alabama Wedding
It all started in the Alabama sun. Two kids, growing up together…one crush, one boy, one girl. There is nothing like a childhood could be sweethearts kind of story and these two gave us the magic on this Alabama Wedding day.
Luke and Olivia have always been two of our favorite people. There is just something so special about traveling back to the state where it all started for us. Alabama Weddings will forever have my heart. Don’t get me wrong, I love traveling the world to capture amazing wedding days, but going back and seeing two souls that God has absolutely joined together will always be a favorite.
This Alabama Wedding got started at the beautiful The Barn at Bennett Flats. Not only is the house divine, but the sun that shines in this romantic venue is probably my favorite. When we arrived, Olivia was full of excitement. She has waited a long time to marry this very special man. Did I mention these two hold the record for longest booked wedding day? Twenty five months…we have held this date for them for twenty five months. When an Alabama bride like Olivia asks you to hold her day, you say absolutely to this kind of Alabama Wedding.
After all of the details and getting Olivia into her dress, and Luke into his light gray suit, we headed out for one of my most favorite first looks I’ve ever witnessed. We had Olivia far back under the tree. Luke knew she was coming, but the anticipation as he waited for her to walk to him, well, I cried. I think we were all filled with anticipation as she arrived close.
And then the moment happened, this Alabama Wedding was beginning with a simple turn to see his bride!
The light on this day was magic. You could feel Jesus on this whole day. The way these two love, the way their friends and family gathered around them, the way people drove from near and far…I mean, we drove 6 hours home after this wedding, but we weren’t going to miss this special Alabama Wedding for anything.
As the wedding party came out in their gray suits and dusty blue dresses (Olivia knows what it takes to be an Amy-Cole bride in the signature Amy-Cole blue). the sun peered over the tree tops for some dreamy memories.
The ceremony was near. It is always so much fun to see old friends and these two ministers are some of the dearest to us. As Craig spoke scripture over their long awaited day, it was as if a comfort of home was there. Tyler walked down in from of Luke as he guided him to the altar where he would say “I do.” Tyler was not only a dear youth pastor in our area of Alabama, while we served there, he is also an Amy-Cole groom. Full circle moments make me smile always, but this Alabama Wedding was full of amazing things and the best one was about to happen.
Casey walked his beautiful daughter down the aisle to Luke and gave her away.
There is nothing more special that watching a Daddy loves his girl.
And with the seal of a kiss, may I introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Parker!!!
These two had waited and been faithful in their relationship with one another. They had prayed for the other and waited patiently in love. Their moment as husband and wife was finally here and the romance from this day was definitely in the air.
One last look out at the light from their gorgeous Alabama Wedding day before heading into their friends and family, at the reception.
These two did it their way and I loved the special touches they included.
The soft and romantic first dance and dances with their parents had many with tears in their eyes. The parents were so full of pride as they watched their married children mingle and share with others in their excitement.
What an honor to see others love these two so well.
As the night ended, the flower petals fell and we hugged big to tell these two just how much we love them! Many prayers have been prayed for them and over them and just like it started, it ended…in love!
This Alabama Wedding will be one of my favorites forever. There is just something about watching a love story unfold from beginning to eternity.
This love story is just getting started!
Luke and Olivia, I don’t often write a personal message on a professional blog, but you give me hope for future generations and I know there are couples that need to see example of waiting on God’s chosen for you. Your love inspires me and your patience to wait together brings me to tears. Josh and I love you both so very much and we pray many blessings and happiness on your future. We are always a phone call away. You’re not only an Amy-Cole couple, you’re friends.
Always in his service…Josh and Amy
