We had been excited about this beautiful couple and their special wedding day at Crooked River State Park in St. Marys, Georgia. As the anticipation was building, so was the rain forecast. But this couple isn’t like a normal wedding couple, they were super relaxed and just ready for their special day with friends and family. They recognized that nothing could ruin their happiness and so, we had an amazing day, rain or shine!

Shelby and Ryan are the type of couple you could spend hours with, just laughing and having fun! They are stress-free and always ready for some fun. We had a blast at their engagement session so I knew their special day at Crooked River State Park would be one for the books.

As I mentioned above, we were preparing for a very wet and rainy day. The forecast kept telling us it was going to be really bad. I’ve shot many rainy wedding days so I knew we would still capture the perfect and special day, but I also knew the plans this couple had for their romantic wedding day and all they anticipated together.

As we arrived, the rain was holding off, but the wind was in full speed. Wind is gorgeous in photographs, so that didn’t bother me at all.

We started capturing their special moments and details and even got to the first look and would you know, Crooked River State Park had rain all around it, but not in their wedding location. We captured amazing images and so much fun with their family only wedding party (which I LOVE, by the way).

As time for the ceremony came near, everything had been set up inside and it was a beautiful ceremony meant just for the two of them. Their guest were excited to attend and the everyone was so happy for the newly married couple.

After the ceremony and family portraits, we skipped sunset time (we are going to take the out to the beach on a perfectly sunny day and capture those at a later date…because that’s how much we love these two) and we went straight into the reception time. They had so much fun eating and dancing with their friends and family.

As the rain poured (finally) outside, we snuck these two out for a few romantic night time shots. We had so much and I am so glad we got to capture a little rain filled photographs to mark this special and rainy wedding day.

This family was a dream to work beside and I know they’ll be friends for a life time. We absolutely loved capturing this love story for Shelby and Ryan at Crooked River State Park and I am honored to share a special sneak peek of their day with you!
