Embracing a New Chapter: Our Move to Knoxville, Tennessee
After a tough three-year journey in South Georgia, my husband Josh and I felt a divine call that led us to embrace a new chapter in our lives. In May of 2023, we felt a clear release from God to seek what He had planned for us next. This spiritual journey brought us to Knoxville, Tennessee, where we now serve with love and dedication at Salem Baptist Church.
A Call to Serve
During our time in South Georgia, we faced moments of uncertainty about our path in ministry. A significant turning point was when I had two cancer scares, my sister and Josh’s Dad passed away, and Josh suffered a bicep injury and emergency surgery. Instead of slowing us down, God reaffirmed our calling to lead worship—a purpose we hold dear to our hearts. Throughout this period, we leaned heavily on prayer, seeking God’s guidance for our next steps. We journaled our prayers and, looking back, it's profoundly moving to see how each of those prayers was answered.
Our Prayers Answered
Our prayers were specific: We asked for a church community that would embrace our family, a pastor who would nurture and support our gifts, a peaceful home, and a ministry that shared our passion for worship. Most importantly, we wanted our children to feel at home and cherished. We are grateful to say that God has graciously responded to each of these requests.
