Dry Creek Chapel Wedding :: Leesburg, Alabama
It was finally here! Harrison and McKenzie were prepared to say “I do” at Dry Creek Chapel in Leesburg, Alabama on a very warm June day.
We’ve known Harrison for many years, In fact, it feels weird calling him Harrison, even here, because to our family he is known as Hoodie Pie. We've lived a lot of life with the Hood family and so it’s always an honor to capture their special memories.
Last spring we had the honor of capturing Harrison’s sister’s wedding day at the same location. It was a beautiful spring day, but I love how different the venue looked with summer air as their backdrop.
The day started with many emotions. Hoodie was getting ready in an amazing black tux and a very cool jacket. He always loved the flair for a tux jacket. I was not surprised he chose something special for this magical day with his bride.
McKenzie spent time with her mom and bridesmaids getting hair and makeup ready! It was only a short time until these two would see each other. The excitement was surely building.
Dry Creek is a unique wedding venue. The venue sits amidst 15 acres of fields and wooded timber. A dry creek bed runs adjacent to the venue, giving the property its name. The venue also hosts an open-air chapel that seats around 200 guests. The sides of the chapel are open to give the outdoor feel.
The venue was a perfect backdrop for their love story to unfold.
As they first look approached, the excitement was building and these two couldn’t wait to see one another. The turn and the tears was overwhelming. Both fell into each other’s arms as they hugged and made sure the other was ok and ready for the day.
After a minute alone, we got busy capturing the fun of the wedding party, family, and friends, and so many people who love these two.
The ceremony time approached and their wedding moment was here! McKenzie was walked down the aisle by her dad and with tears, these two said vows and promised to love one another forever.
After the ceremony, we headed to the most perfect golden light and captured their romantic wedding day portraits. The arbor was a perfect backdrop under the warm and sunny sky!
The reception was in full swing and we enjoyed food and dancing and some amazing cake!
It wasn’t long before it was time for the perfect bubble send off . After their send off, we headed to a favorite spot for these two. It is where they got engaged! We captured the sunset overlooking the river and mountains and smiled because these two were about to drive off into their happily ever after!
Enjoy a beautiful sneak peek of their day at Dry Creek Chapel!
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Hood! We are so happy for you and can’t wait to watch your life and ministry unfold! We are always praying God’s blessings on you!
